This self-paced course consists of two modules.
Module 1: Engaging ELLs: Teaching to Student Strengths, developed by WIDA, examines key learner considerations which support educators in leveraging English Learner (EL) interests, strengths, and assets (cultural and linguistic).
Module 2: Differentiation in Action, looks at the process for developing differentiated instruction and assessment appropriate for ELs at all levels of language development through the use of tools developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, including the Pennsylvania English Language Development (PA ELDS) Framework, the ELL Differentiation Protocol and the ELL Differentiation Tool.
Act 48 Credits: This course has been approved for Act 48 credits. In order to receive credit, you must successfully complete both modules. Please note there will be a nominal processing fee to issue the credits.
