English Language Development

English Language Development courses cover a variety of topics and concepts, including foundations for teaching ELs; culturally responsive teaching; designing and adapting curriculum, instruction, and assessment; understanding immigration and acculturation processes; fostering academic language development; engaging ELs in inquiry-based instruction; and data-based decision-making, among others. The intended audience for each course varies but the catalog includes coursework designed for ESL Specialists, content teachers, principals, and district administrators.
